I just tried to bribe my children with an ice cream cone. All they had to do was say "Boomer Sooner" to their principal when he opened the van door this morning. And when I noticed that wasn't quite doing the trick, I upped the ante to a Sonic Butterfinger Blast. Baylee considered it for a moment, but Caylee wanted nothing to do with it. And for girls who barely get a "Good Morning" out to the man each day, I knew it was a long shot.
So they didn't participate verbally, but they can't hide the fact that they're wearing their OU t-shirts and OU hoodies!
And how much do you want to bet they ask for that ice cream cone or Blast when I pick them up?! You snooze, you lose, girlies!
Needless to say, the van was quite full of laughter this morning.

My uncle Doug used to get the phrases "You snooze, you lose" and "You're cruising for a bruising" mixed up. One time he was trying to talk some smack to either Audra and Cassie and said, as sarcastically as he could, "Sorry girls. You cruise, you lose." He had the misfortune of his little faux pas being witnessed by Les, Sara, and Marion, who just couldn't wait to make fun of him for the slight. From then on, they always found a way to say, "You cruise, you lose" or "You're snoozing for a bruising." Fantastic.
Too bad about OU tonight. There's always next year.

So funny! (even if I'm an OSU Cowboy and alum!). We miss you guys! Let us know when you head our way on your next trip to Oklahoma, and we can meet you at a restaurant or Braums or something.
